Your PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 10-digit number printed on every IRCTC or counter ticket.

🧾 Understanding Your PNR Result
| Status Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| CNF | Confirmed seat/berth — no action needed. |
| RAC | Reservation Against Cancellation — you can board, will share berth. |
| WL | Wait-Listed — not confirmed yet; check again after charting. |
| PQWL / RLWL | Different quota waitlists depending on boarding station and route. |
| CAN | Cancelled ticket — no seat allotted. |
💡 Tips for Passengers
- Check your PNR again after the chart is prepared (usually 4 hours before departure).
- If still Wait-Listed after charting, you cannot board with an e-ticket; refund is automatic.
- Try booking through the Alternate Train Accommodation Scheme (VIKALP) to get confirmed seats on other trains.
