π Indian Railways PNR Status Enquiry (Official Guide)
Your PNR (Passenger Name Record) is a 10-digit number printed on every IRCTC or counter ticket.
It stores your booking details and helps you know whether your seat is Confirmed, RAC or Wait-Listed.
π How to Check PNR Status Online
- Locate the 10-digit PNR on the top-right corner of your ticket or in the IRCTC SMS/e-mail.
- Click the official enquiry button below β this opens the Indian Railways portal operated by CRIS.
- Enter your PNR and submit to see current status, coach position and charting info.
π§Ύ Understanding Your PNR Result
Status Code | Meaning |
---|---|
CNF | Confirmed seat/berth β no action needed. |
RAC | Reservation Against Cancellation β you can board, will share berth. |
WL | Wait-Listed β not confirmed yet; check again after charting. |
PQWL / RLWL | Different quota waitlists depending on boarding station and route. |
CAN | Cancelled ticket β no seat allotted. |
π‘ Tips for Passengers
